As owner and director, Mary Ellen Schrewe has over 30 years experience in the dance field. Ms. Mary Ellen has studied dance education at Wayne State University and is a member of Dance Masters of America and the Cecchetti Council of America. By continuing her studies with nationally recognized teachers and choreographers, she enables her students to grow and excel to their fullest potential in the dance arts.
The studio has received numerous awards at dance competitions including “Best Choreography”, “Studio Spirit Award”, and the “Outstanding Teacher Award” for three consecutive years.
The staff at Mary Ellen Studio of Dance is well rounded and educated in every style of dance. Taking great pride in their experience and achievements, the instructors are well known for their friendly and personable approach to dance. Each student is given individual attention, focusing on building strength and self-confidence. All of the instructors have 15 years or more of dance experience and all were award-winning, competitive dancers. The instructors have attended workshops and seminars with notable choreographers and dance professionals, some of which include Napoleon & Tabitha D’umo, choreographers from the famous T.V. show “So You Think You Can Dance”, as well as Dominic “D-Trix” Sandoval, finalist of “SYTYCD” and winner of the MTV Show “America’s Best Dance Crew”. The Mary Ellen Studio of Dance instructors have highly diversified training, including several who have studied dance in New York City, received their BFA in Dance, coached high school dance teams and danced internationally under American Ballet Theater instructors.
